The short version: Brolic needs an account so the leaderboard knows whose lift is whose. Your lifts, username and comments are public to other lifters; your email is private. No ads, no tracking, no selling data. You can delete everything from the app at any time.
Brolic is a workout tracker and gym leaderboard for iPhone and iPad, made by The Big Head in Edmonton, Alberta. This policy explains what Brolic stores, who can see it, and how to delete it.
What we collect
Your account
- Your email address, or the identity Sign in with Apple or Google returns to us. Your email is kept in a private record that other users cannot see.
- Your username and display name, and a short bio if you write one.
- A profile picture only if your Google account provides one.
- Your country, taken from your device's region setting.
- Optional: your gender and bodyweight, used for weight classes and strength levels.
- Your preferences: kilograms or pounds, and your weekly training target.
Your training
- Workouts you log: exercises, sets, weights, reps and times, workout titles and durations.
- Personal records and leaderboard entries worked out from those workouts.
- Your goals and saved routines.
- Comments you post on lifts.
- Upvotes and downvotes you give, and the list of users you block.
- Reports you file (what you reported, the reason, and your account ID), so we can review them.
What we do not collect
- No photos, videos, contacts, location (GPS), health data or microphone.
- No payment information. Brolic has no in-app purchases.
- No advertising identifiers, no tracking, and no third-party analytics or ad SDKs.
Who can see what
Visible to other Brolic users: your username, display name, bio, profile picture, country, the lifts and workouts you log, your leaderboard entries (including the weight class and strength level they are ranked in), vote counts on your lifts, and your comments.
Private to you: your email address, goals, routines, the list of people you block, reports you file, and your preferences. The app shows how many votes a lift has, not who cast them.
How we use it
- To run the app: save your workouts, fill in last session's numbers, build your weekly report and progress charts.
- To rank lifts on the leaderboards, and to remove lifts the community downvotes.
- To keep the community safe and enforce our Terms.
We do not sell your data or use it for advertising.
Service providers
- Firebase (Google): sign-in and the database that stores your account and workouts.
- Apple: Sign in with Apple.
- Google: Sign in with Google.
Security
Data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest by Firebase. Database rules only let you change your own account and data.
Deleting your account
In the app, go to You → gear (Settings) → Delete account. This permanently deletes your account and your workouts, comments, leaderboard entries, goals and routines. If the app asks you to sign in again first, do so and repeat. You can also ask us to delete your account by emailing support@brolic.io.
Children
Brolic is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top of this page changes with it.
